About the event
Utilizing a grazing plan to implement rotational grazing on a farm/ranch has many benefits. The numerous advantages of rotational grazing include increasing profits by increasing forage production, increasing resistance to drought, increasing water infiltration, as well as, reducing erosion and reducing the need added inputs like fertilizers & herbicides.
At this 3 day seminar, you will learn from certified Holistic Management Educator, Tracy Litle, about how to determine what natural resources you have, set goals for your grazing plan, determine your stocking rate, establish valuable forage recovery times, map grazable acres & pastures, create a grazing plan, and establish your criteria for monitoring & assessing your plan. Not only will you establish a grazing plan for your farm/ranch, but you will gain hands-on knowledge & skills by developing and implementing the grazing system for our grassfed beef at our veteran training farm.
For more information on the topics for each day of the seminar, please see our workshops page.
Cost is $150 per participant. We will be on a working ranch so boots and long pants are required. Long sleeve shirt, hats, sunscreen, bug spray, & folding/camping type chairs are suggested. Growin on Faith Farm will provide workshop materials, light breakfast foods/snacks, water, & Gatorade. You will be responsible to bring your lunch and other drinks if you like.
